Jesus speaks of the Holy Spirit. The Father loves them because they believe. They will leave him in his trial.

And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they believe not on me;... Behold, the hour comes, yes is now come, that you shall be scattered, every man to his own and shall leave me alone: …

Jesus prays for all followers that we may witness well to the world.

Now they have known that all things you have given me are of you. For I have given them the words you gave me. And they have received them and have known surely that I came from you; and they have believed that you sent me.

Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word that they all may be one; as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they may be one in us, that the world may believe that you have sent me. And the glory which you gave me I have given them, that they may be one even as we are one. I in them, and you in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that you have sent me, and have loved them as you love me.

What manner of communications are these that you have as you walk and are sad?... What things?... O fools, and slow of heart to believe all the prophets have spoken.

Peace be unto you. Reach here your hand and thrust it into my side; and be not faithless, but believing. … Thomas, because you have seen me, you have believed. Blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
