One day Jesus went out of the house, and sat beside the Sea of Galilee. A great many people came to hear him. There were so many people he went into a ship and sat. The people stood or sat on the shore. Now, many more people could hear him speak. Jesus preaching to the multitude was like a farmer sowing the corn or wheat. He knows not where it will light. Some soil even when carefully tended will not grow good fruit. Good soil grows much fruit. So it is with the hearts of men. They are compared to the different sorts of ground. Some listen well and others do not listen or believe.
