Matt.24:2-41; Mark.13:2-37; Luke 21:6-36 |
See these great buildings? Of these things which you behold, the days will come in which there shall not be left one stone upon another. For many shall come in my name saying, I am Christ and the time draws near, and shall deceive many. … all of these things must first come to pass; but the end is not yet. … nation shall rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom. There shall be great earthquakes in different places, famines, pestilences, troubles, fearful sights and great signs from heaven. … they shall lay hands on you and persecute you. They shall deliver you up to councils to be afflicted, in the synagogues you shall be beaten and killed. And bring you into prisons and before kings and rulers for a testimony against them. And it shall be opportunity for a testimony. … speak that which shall be given you in that hour. For I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist. For it is not you that speak, but the Holy Ghost. And you shall be betrayed by parents and brethren, and kinsfolk and friends. And some of you shall they cause to be put to death. Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son. And children shall rise up against their parents and shall cause them to be put to death. And you shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake. But there shall not a hair of your head perish … Then shall many be offended and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. |

And many false prophets shall arise and deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations, and then shall the end come. For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. For there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. … They shall fall by the edge of the sword and shall be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. |
|
In those days, there shall be great tribulation such as was not from the creation of the world which God created unto this time, nor shall ever be. … for the elect’s sake, he has shortened the days. … For there shall arise false Christ’s and false prophets, showing great signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, the very elect. Take heed. I have foretold you all things. Wherefore if they shall say unto you, He is in the desert; go not forth. He is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as the lightning comes out of the east and shines unto the west; so shall also the coming of the son of man be. |

Where the carcass is, there will the eagles be gathered together. Immediately after that tribulation, there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them for fear and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth. The sun shall be darkened and the moon shall not give her light. And the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken. The sign of the Son of man shall appear in heaven; all the tribes of the earth shall mourn. They shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. He shall send his angels with the sound of a trumpet, they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth, from one end of heaven to another. When these things begin to come to pass, look up and lift your heads for your redemption draws near. This generation shall not pass away until all these things be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. |

But of that day and hour knows no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but my Father only. |

As the days of Noah were, so shall the coming of the Son of man be. As the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away. So shall the coming of the Son of man be. Two shall be in the field. one shall be taken and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill. The one shall be taken and the other left. … |

Take heed to yourselves, to keep your hearts from the sins of overindulgence and drunkenness, and cares of this life, so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch and pray always that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and stand before the son of man. Whether these prophecies were fulfilled in 70 A.D. or if some of them are future is not critical to followers of Jesus. |
