Matt. 3:15

Let it to be so now; for we should fulfill all righteousness.

Jesus entered into baptism as an example to us.

John 4:23

But the hour comes, and now is, when true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for the Father seeks such to worship him.

Truth is to be followed enthusiastically as an act of worship.

Luke 11:28

Yea, rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God and keep it.

Mark 3:33-35; Luke 8:21; Matt. 12:50

My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God and do it. For the person who does the will of God my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and my sister, and my mother.

Those who obey the Father are welcome in His family.

Matt. 5:19

Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven, but he who does and teaches them, shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Does this mean called great by those in the kingdom?

Luke 6:40

...everyone that is perfect shall be as his master.

Luke 6:46; Matt. 7:21-23

Why do you call me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Not every one that saysunto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? And in your name have cast out devils? And in your name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you; depart from me, you that work iniquity.

Matt. 7:24,25; Luke 6:47,48

Therefore, he who comes to me and hears these sayings of mine and does them, I will show you to whom he is like. I will liken him unto a wise man which built a house and dug deep; laid the foundation and built his house upon a rock.

Matt. 15:3-9; Mark 7:6-13

You hypocrites, Isaiah has well prophesied of you as it is written This people draws nigh unto me with their mouth and honors me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. They worship me in vain, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men, ...Full well you reject the commandment of God that you may keep your own tradition. For God commanded saying, Honor your father and mother, and he who curses father or mother let him die the death. But you say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corbin, that is to say a gift, by which you may be profited by me, and honor not his father or his mother, he shall be free ...By this action you have made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition which you have developed, and you do many such things.

Claiming to serve does not fill the obligation to obey.

John 8:31,32

If you continue in my word, then you are my disciples indeed; and you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.

John 8:51

If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.

Matt. 19:17

...But if you will enter into life, keep the commandments.

Luke 17:10

So, when you shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants. We have done that which was our duty to do.

John 12:26

If any man serve me, let him follow me, and where I am, there shall also my servant be: If any man serve me, him will my Father honor.

John 12:49,50

For I have not spoken of myself, but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say and speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting. All that I speak, as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

John 14:15

If you love me, keep my commandments.

John 14:21,23,24,31

He that has my commandments and keeps them, he it is that loves me. … If a man love me, he will keep my words, and my Father will love him; and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. … He that loves me not does not keep my sayings. And the word which you hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me. … But that the world my know that I love the Father, and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do.

John 15:10,14

If you keep my commandments, you shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. … You are my friends, if you do what I command you.
