Why are the Words of Jesus Important?

Why?

You need to answer the question. Herein is a simple explanation that will equip you to answer anyone who questions your desire to follow Jesus; through knowing, believing and deciding your course of action by using His words.

  • Jesus is the Only Begotten Son of The Heavenly Father.
  • Jesus chose to live, and lived, as The Heavenly Father instructed all people to live.
  • Because He lived and taught the right way and accepted the verdict of death, He was resurrected and now offers eternal life to all who come when He calls, forsake this world's ways and live as He taught.
  • The Christian lifestyle is explained by the words Jesus spoke while He lived here.
  • His statement, "He that rejects me, and receives not my words, has one that judges him; the word I have spoken, shall judge him in the last day" (John 12:48 Paraphrased), is true and needed now.
  • The answer to "Why are the Words of Jesus important?", is needed because there is a flood of men's words that obscure the message Jesus lived and taught.
  • It is needed because there is a false sense of security, advocated by those who teach, that living as Jesus commanded is not of any value to those who have said "I am a sinner, I take Jesus as my Savior and accept the promises offered to His followers". Let's face it folks this is a false teaching. It contradicts Jesus!
  • The repentant process is not that easy. It causes change. That change causes Christians to look to Jesus for guidance.
  • From Matthew to Revelation the message is repent and live as Jesus teaches. The lifestyle of some christian communities in Revelations 2 and 3, who were told to repent or be expelled from our Savior's presence, closely resembles that of the christian community today.

For these reasons, The Words of Jesus are important to those who claim the promises Jesus offered.
